The Mission

From my own experience, writing poetry has helped me to overcome and understand many things about life and myself. This blog will be an open journal for all who care to read it. You are also welcome to participate in any free writing activities as well as post your poems for review or just to share.

My Psalm

You have turned my mourning into dancing for me;
You have put off my sackcloth and girded me with gladness.
To the end that my tongue and my heart and everything glorious
within me may sing praise to You and not be silent.
O Lord, my God, I will give thanks to You forever. Psalm 30:11-12

You love me
have always loved me
You did not remove the mountains
that would block my sun
and dare me to climb
but you gave me strong legs
and a strong mind,
an open heart
which when combined with your grace and mercy,
your faithful promises, your love
made me grow wings to rise above and soar like an eagle.

Despite my lowly birth
you have made me regal
clothed in purples and reds
crowned my head with knowledge and wisdom.

This life has gave me dirges of despair
and bid me dance
but you gave me poetry, a chance
to rewrite all the songs
through my words
rewrite all the wrongs
that any evil principality could employ.

Erase from me the sadness of my wayward days
or at least change the rhythm
and teach my children to dance to them anyway
knowing that all things work to the good for those who are loved,
those who are called.

May I never forget
the work you have done in me,
the divine purpose you have begun in me.

You are my love.
You are my life.
And I will praise you,
Always.
